Lifestyle shoot at Fort Lauderdale Beach
If you haven't seen my most recent lifestyle shoot done at Fort Lauderdale Beach, check out some of the photography. As a dog photographer, this was dream come true! During this early morning beach session, we had plenty of time to do shots in many locations including a variety of outfits. With such an expansive wardrobe to choose from, I did not leave a photo op untouched.
My subject for the day was the amazing Penny. If you don't know about Penny, visit her instagram @petitpennybg. Your feed will thank you for the cuteness. Penny is a natural-born model and the camera (and me) love her. Her mom is also a rock star and brought Penny everything she needed, making sure she stayed comfortable and hydrated through the entire shoot. Definitely amazing pups and their pawrents are what make these sessions possible.
Knowing Penny had multiple outfits, my vision was to create catalog and promotional shots for various of the companies whose products were being modeled. Some of the companies included: Dog Threads and Puppies Make Me Happy. Both are amazing companies from which a portion of their sales goes toward helping other pups in need. The shots were so successful they made it to the home page of Dog Threads.
The session started at the beach in Fort Lauderdale, where we created some sunny, warm, sandy photography. As the morning progressed, it was time for water photos. All Florida pet photographers know you have to take advantage of the water views, specially with water motivated dogs. We enjoyed switching outfits and even doing a Christmas themed Santa outfit in sunny South Florida. Even Santa needs a vacation from time to time.
After wrapping up the beachy portion of the photo session, we moved to a more urban setting across the street. Here we played with graffiti, urban-themed outfits, and vibrant colors. These urban beach locations are ideal because we get more variety in the shots without having to go to a second location.
